The Naruse couple started living together out of concern for her father-in-law Saburo, who lives alone. Kokoro is genuinely happy to be living with him and adores him like a real father, but her husband Kazuaki doesn't approve of her living with Saburo, who used to go out and play without paying any attention to his family. She is constantly arguing with Kazuaki, and Kokoro's sadness grows alone. Then one night, after arguing with Kazuaki, Kokoro storms out of the bedroom, and seeks a warmth that goes beyond that of a father-daughter relationship from Saburo, who is always by her side to comfort her.
