At the end of the Edo period. After the war, Sanosuke became a ronin and lived a carefree life, drinking and having sex with women at brothels. One day, on a dark street, he met a courtesan named Yoshiri. Despite her beautiful appearance, Yoshiri had always had plans to buy her freedom, but the head of her family schemed to break it off, and she lived a closed-hearted Kokoro. As he interacted with her, Sanosuke began to want to help her, but there was no way the head of the family would allow such a thing.
