Shizuka lives with her husband. One night, they receive news that their neighbor, Hirai, has had his wife and child killed in an accident. Shizuka feels sympathy for Hirai, who has suddenly lost his family and is like a shell of an empty place, and is unable to refuse Hirai's pleas and they end up having a relationship.
