Ayako, a former secretary to the third-generation young president who now lives with him as his wife, has been struggling for many years with not being able to have children. Her father-in-law, Shigeru, the second-generation president and living with her, desperately wants to have a grandchild and urges his son to divorce and remarry another woman, but his son refuses and tells his father that he still wants to be married to Ayako.
